word begets image, and image is virus Oct 13, 2012
in the old world the monsters were more alive,
not trapped in lightwindows and the illusion of reality
where words must work harder to conjure wings and snouts
back when mythology was open to experience
along the fjords in cold wet winter,
on the cliffsides in caves above the savanna,
in the tunnels under grassy hills;
instead of being catalogued in handbooks with illustrations
and codified in films and named,
a world where something cannot be Ogre without certain characteristics.
i'm not saying smash your television,
i'm saying smash your images
word begets image, and image is virus
