Everywhere, words call out.

   WIDE RULED

       SECURITY DEVICE ENCLOSED

BRING THIS SUMMONS WHEN YOU REPORT

Someday, a real rain will come:
washing the ink from every surface, the
the fibers of paper will be green again, and
and sink shoots in to the hardening bark of what
was your desk. The paint flakes from the walls as
the house shrugs off its shingles, chimney bricks
falling thud, thud, thud. The telephone
The telephone poles will draw water from under the roads,
pushing the steel pins from their sides (in plant-minutes,
            to us -- like days)

        Iron falling suddenly: thunk.

Everywhere, humankind is forgotten as the plants

, The Plants readjust the world.
